14 May 2026

Mr. Theerapun Charoensak, Managing Director of True IDC, joined industry leaders at the “EEC Sectoral Deep Dive Forum – Digital Sector” under the theme “Product Champions & EEC Success Cases” to share insights on the future of the digital economy, AI infrastructure investment, and Thailand’s role in becoming a regional digital infrastructure hub for ASEAN.

During the panel discussion, Mr. Theerapun highlighted the transition into the AI Economy era, where Data Centers are rapidly becoming critical “Strategic Infrastructure” for nations worldwide comparable to essential infrastructure such as power systems, airports, and transportation networks in previous generations.

True IDC believes Thailand, particularly the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), has strong potential to become the “Digital Gateway of ASEAN” thanks to its strategic location, regional connectivity infrastructure, reliable power and network readiness, and the government’s clear policy direction in advancing the Digital Economy and AI Infrastructure initiatives.

The company also emphasized several key success factors for the long-term growth of the Data Center industry, including Power Reliability, Green Energy & Sustainability, Data Sovereignty, and digital talent development, all of which are increasingly important in attracting global cloud and AI investments.

In addition, True IDC reaffirmed its commitment to “growing together with the country and society” in line with the Charoen Pokphand Group’s “3 Benefits Principle,” which prioritizes benefits to the country and people alongside business growth. The company continues to focus on creating shared value through education support, digital skills development, collaboration with local contractors and suppliers, and community engagement initiatives.

“The future of the digital economy will not be defined by countries with the most resources, but by countries that are best prepared with digital infrastructure. We are not simply building facilities to store data, we are building new opportunities for the country and future generations.” Mr. Theerapun concluded.

True IDC’s participation in the forum further reflects its role as one of Thailand’s leading Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure providers, committed to supporting the growth of the digital economy and helping position Thailand as a future Digital Infrastructure Hub for the region.
